Dr. Deborah Osgood
Author, coach, trainer, consultant, public speaker, and social entrepreneur, Dr. Deborah Osgood leads the KISBD team as cofounder and President/CEO.
As an author and coach, she has helped thousands of individuals young and old to do what they love and love what they do. As a trainer, her work has helped vocational rehabilitation offices, economic development agencies and workforce development programs to help disadvantaged populations start, grow and succeed in business. This includes individuals with disabilities, Native Americans, veterans, woman, minorities and at-risk youth. To improve the reach and impact of product and service offerings tailored to entrepreneurs, she has consulted for industry leaders such as Kelly Services, ADP, Delta Dental and Dun & Bradstreet.
As a subject matter expert and public speaker, she has been published in The Wall Street Journal, Business Week, New York Times, NASE, Entrepreneur, and the Associated Press, as well as engaged diverse audiences as a key note, presenter and panelist. She has also been a featured guest on National television and radio shows including New York’s WPIX news, Boston’s WCVB-TV Chronicle and Chicago’s Real Talk Radio. At the global level, she served as international spokesperson for IBM and the World Bank on issues pertaining to women and minorities in business, pioneered the National Entrepreneurial Research and Knowledge Center in Nigeria, and was one of seven women to serve as business mentors in a U.S. Department of State Iraqi Businesswomen’s Partnership program.
Her passion and commitment for her work is also demonstrated by her civic engagement, numerous awards and the creation of America’s Small Business Champions Network, a public/private consortium helping over 2.5 million people each month to connect with free entrepreneurial assistance programs. She holds a D.A. in Transformational Leadership with a focus on a systems approach to entrepreneurship, an MBA and a B.S. in marketing.
Dr. William Osgood
Author, trainer, consultant and serial entrepreneur, Dr. William Osgood leads the KISBD team as cofounder and Managing Director.
As an author of over two dozen books published in multiple languages and distributed internationally, he has been recognized as one of the world’s leading experts in entrepreneurial education and small business development and was awarded the Small Business Advocate of the Year the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). As both a scholar and practitioner in the field of entrepreneurship, his training and consulting services have been utilized by government and private sector firms such as the U.S. Department of Labor, U.S. SBA, NADC-PTAC, Microsoft, IBM and The World Bank.
As a consummate innovator and serial entrepreneur, he helped to create the U.S. SBA Business Information Center (BIC) national network, the first Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in the country, the NH High Tech Council, and the Federal Reserve Bank Small Business Development Program tailored to helping inner city minorities attain financial success through entrepreneurship. His own businesses have represented successful ventures in the communications, high tech, education and business consulting industries.
With over four decades devoted to helping individuals succeed in business, he has served on multiple boards and committees, developed numerous training programs and taught and guest lectured at prominent institutions including Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Babson College. He holds an EdD with a focus on Entrepreneurial System Development & Adaptation, an MBA, a B.S. in business and is a U.S. veteran.
